This symbol was first introduced by Dr. John Dee, a noted mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, occultist, navigator, imperialist, and consultant to Queen Elizabeth I. Aleister Crowley designed the Star of Babalon in the twenties.
My sister Lilith was the girlfriend of Martin Ain in 1983. And she used a bloodred Star of Babalon on a black background in her temple. In addition, she gave Martin about a dozen books by Aleister Crowley to study. Martin has never returned those books. I'm sure that he was inspired by Lilith to design the Celtic Frost heptagram. Before Martin met with her, he had no idea of the occult.
The first "official" release with the heptagram would have been on the back cover of the "Apocalyptic Raids" EP by Hellhammer. I was on the hate list for this release, which I am still proud. A few months earlier I was on the "Satanic Rites" demo still on the thanks list. My sister and I have created the leather armbands with upturned crosses, which were shown on the back cover of "Apocalyptic Raids" for the very first time.
These stories are described by Martin Ain in Thomas Gabriel Fischer's Hellhammer biography "Only Death Is Real" in the chapter "Lilith and Baphomet". As long as the book has not yet published, I refrain from a lengthy commentary.
